Professional Biographies
Matthew Rector, President
Matt has been installing, servicing, and contracting in the low voltage electrical industry for over 32 years. He founded Security & Sound Systems, Inc. in 1989 and has supervised all company operations since then. He has extensive knowledge of general building practices, trade-specific building codes, and the construction industry as a whole. Matt's low voltage system design expertise is enhanced by his longevity and decades of practical field experience. He has provided customers with solid professional design services, including product selection and integration, to suit thousands of custom applications and installations.
His experience in various disciplines and systems allows customers to interact with a single contractor for their complete low voltage package, which includes surveillance, sound reinforcement, intrusion detection, access control, video, and master antenna systems. Matt currently holds a certificate of competency as an Alarm II contractor for the State of Florida. In addition, he holds certifications and specialized training from various manufacturers.

Byard Hey, Sales Manager
Byard has been in the Audio/Video and Security Communications Industry for over 26 years providing customers with professional design services, product selection, and integration, estimating, and sales. He has an extensive background in audio and video distribution and reinforcement, control system implementation, and security camera/intrusion detection systems for commercial, industrial, educational, governmental, and retail facilities. Byard has the capabilities to provide AutoCAD plan layout, device location, system engineering, and specification writing and project execution.
Byard's knowledge and relationships with the construction industry's professionals have allowed him to successfully complete thousands of projects in the Southeast Florida areas of Monroe, Miami-Dade, Broward, Palm Beach, Martin, St. Lucie, and Indian River Counties.
